When the whole container is the artwork
A shrink sleeve wraps a contoured bottle end to end, so the design is not interrupted by a label edge and 360 degrees of the pack is printable. A speciality pouch removes the rigid container altogether — less material shipped, less material discarded, and a pack that stands on shelf.
Both are decisions about the pack format rather than the decoration, which is why they are worth taking early, with the packaging engineers, before the container is tooled.
